Ashes and Flames: Orthodoxy as Faith in Romania

Orthodox faith was subject to persecution or ashes under the regime prior to 1989; few have noticed the burning cool under the ash, which later was to become flames. Orthodox faith was not "another religion", our Saviour was always more than "Jesus", as the Logos of the Father has become human to uplift the pains of the world, which is much more than cleaning its sins. It was this feeling that animated the faith of the overwhelming local population who has never given up their identity and hopes for His transfiguring light to come.
